Treatment provides medical supervision and monitoring for individuals as well as medication assistance to decrease and manage the symptoms experienced when these substances are discontinued.
Med Stabilization vs. Detox?
Detoxification is a set of interventions aimed at managing acute intoxication and withdrawal. It denotes a clearing of toxins from the body of the patient who is acutely intoxicated and/or dependent on substances of abuse. This process can take up to 30-45 days for an individual to completely detoxify.
Medical Stabilization is medically supervised/assisted stabilization for an individual through the initial 3-5 days of withdrawal from alcohol, opiates, or benzodiazepines.
Treatment planning after stabilization
While someone is undergoing medical stabilization they will work with a Social worker to discuss their treatment options after stabilization is completed. There are several options that we are able to provide individuals including our Intensive Outpatient program as well as outside agency options that provide individual, general outpatient, Intensive Outpatient, Day Treatment or Partial Hospitalization, Residential, and Inpatient treatment programs. We can also provide information on local support or sober community options such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Fit to Recover, spiritually based supports, Rational Recovery, SMART Recovery, etc.
